The Madison County Recycling Center opened in June of 2004 to provide Madison County residents with a venue for recycling and the safe disposal of household hazardous wastes. Recycling is a great way to make a difference in your community and worldwide for today and for generations to come. Through recycling and proper waste disposal, you can help save valuable resources, send less garbage to landfills, and create less air and water pollution.
Recycling also saves energy. In fact, recycling just one aluminum can saves enough electricity to operate a television for three hours. In addition to creating new versions of the same materials collected at the Recycling Center, other products may be made from recyclables, such as cellulose insulation, carpet, furniture, and even clothing just to name a few. So, do the right thing and make Earth Day every day by recycling at the Madison County Recycling Center.
