American Rescue Plan Act
OVERVIEW
Madison County has been awarded a grant of over $25 Million through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The funds present a significant opportunity for Madison County to (i) Continue its response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its secondary effects; (ii) Invest in initiatives that support a strong economic recovery, and (iii) Strengthen County fiscal stability by reducing demand for taxpayer dollars to fund existing initiatives or priorities. Information about the American Rescue Plan Act, or ARPA, can be found on the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Website.
Madison County has proposed updating the ARPA Funding Allocation and Community Engagement Plan to facilitate the implementation of this program. The following draft plan has been presented for review: Madison County ARPA Allocation and Engagement Plan.
The initial round of APRA appropriations were received in 2022. A summary of the projects is included here:
Round 2 ARPA proposals are currently under consideration can be found here. Copies of these proposals are available to review in the County Commissioners Office, during normal business hours.
Madison County is currently accepting Proposals. To be eligible for consideration, a Proposal must be co-sponsored by at least two eligible champions. Proposal champions can be elected officials or department heads working for Madison County or residents of Madison County representing a municipality, community group, not-for-profit organization, or other similar entity located primarily within Madison County. All eligible champions are welcome to submit proposals; however, priority at this time will be given to those submitted or co-submitted by elected officials or department heads working for Madison County. The ARPA Community Engagement Team is working to engage other municipalities, community groups, not-for-profit organizations, and other similar entities to determine the best approach for collaboration.
Proposals can be submitted by completing this form. The form must be completed in its entirety for consideration. Please note that, while all proposals are welcome, priority at this time is being given to proposals focusing within the County government operations. The ARPA Community Engagement Team is working to facilitate collaborative efforts throughout the community, and as these initiatives progress, additional information will be made available.
